The Spiritan University Nneochi (SUN) is owned by the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (Spiritans). Province of Nigeria South-East. The Congregation is an International Religious Order in the Catholic Church founded in France on May 27, 1703. The members of this Religious Order began their educational and evangelization work in Nigeria in 1885. The name of the University is inspired by the charisms of the Holy Spiritan who is Spirit to knowledge, understanding, wisdom and fortitude. The University was approved by Federal Executive Council of Nigeria on the 6^th of December 2017 and issued with a licence to operate as a Private University on the 19^th of December, 2017, by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC STAFF

Professor

The applicants must possess a postgraduate (Doctorate) degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in teaching and research in universities or similar institutions of higher learning, demonstrable ability to initiate, develop and supervise research projects, a good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals, and capacity for academic leadership.

Reader/Associate Professor

The applicants must possess a postgraduate (Doctorate) degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 8 years, post qualification experience in teaching and research in Universities or similar institutions of higher learning. Demonstrable ability to initiate, develop and supervise research in universities or similar institutions of higher learning. A good record of scholarly publications in reputable journals, and capacity for academic leadership.

Senior Lecturer

The applicants must possess a postgraduate (Doctorate) degree with a minimum of 5 years of teaching and research in a university. Industrial experience as well as scholarly publications.

Lecturer I

The applicants must possess a postgraduate (Doctorate) degree with at least3 years of teaching and/or research experience in a tertiary institution; and scholarly publications.

Lecturer II

The applicants must possess a postgraduate Doctorate degree in relevant field or Master’s degree with at least 3 years of teaching and research experience in a tertiary Institution and scholarly publications.

Asst. Lecturer

The applicant must possess a Masters’ degree in relevant field plus evidence of discharge from the NYSC.

NON-ACADEMIC STAFF VACANCIES

Applicants for Laboratory Technician position must possess B.Sc./HND in Medical Laboratory Science/Microbiology or National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science in addition to 2 years’ work experience or National Diploma in Microbiology in addition to a minimum 3 years cognate experience. They must be registered with Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
