Vice Chancellor
The Board of Trustees, Spiritan University Nneochi on the 20th of January 2018, approved the appointment of, and consequently appointed Very Rev Fr Prof Remy N Onyewuenyi, CSSp the Vice Chancellor of Spiritan University, Nneochi. The Appointment Letter, in part, reads: "in accordance with the provisions of the Spiritan University Law 2017, Part 1, Section 5, Sub-sections 1 and 2(g), as approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria, and following the decision of the Board of Trustees of Spiritan University held on January 20, 2018, to, among other things, consider the appointment of the first Vice Chancellor, I have the pleasure to convey the approval of the Board of Trustees of your appointment as the Vice Chancellor of Spiritan University, Nneochi. The appointment which shall be for a term of five (5) years is with effect from Saturday, 20th January, 2018."
In delivering the Letter of Appointment, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Chancellor of the University, Chief (Dr.) Anthony Mogboh, SAN, among other things, congratulated Prof Remy Onyewuenyi on his appointment and reminded him that the task of nurturing a new University is not an easy one. He added: "With your experience and exposure we are confident that you will have a very successful tenure". The Chancellor also promised Prof. Onyewuenyi the total commitment and collaboration of the BOT in the realization of the aims, visions and objectives of the University. The Chairman concluded that with the help of God and the cooperation of all stakeholders and relevant agencies the University will make its mark, in record time, in the Nigerian University Education System and in the production of efficient and effective manpower for the national and international labour market.
Until his appointment, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Remy N Onyewuenyi, CSSp has been the Dean, Faculty of Environmental Sciences as well as the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Caritas University, Amorji-Nike, Enugu, Nigeria.

Born on July 28, 1945 at Egbelu Nguru, Ngor Okpala LGA, Imo State, Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Remy Nnadozie Onyewuenyi is a Professor of Geography & Environmental Sciences, Caritas University, Amorji-Nike, Enugu. He had his first Religious Profession in February 1968, final Religious Profession in 1972 and was ordained as Catholic Priest of the Holy Ghost Congregation in April 29, 1973. He obtained a Bachelor of Divinity (Theology) of the Urban University, Rome (Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu) in 1973, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Geography and Sociology of the National University of Ireland (Cork) in 1979, Master of Arts (Hons) Geography of the University of Ottawa, Canada, 1981, Doctor of Philosophy in Geography of the University of Ottawa, Canada, 1990, Post Graduate Certificate (Formation, Mission and Spirituality), Spiritan Centre for Mission and Spirituality, SIST, Attakwu, Enugu, 1999, Post Graduate Certificate (Ongoing Formation of Formators), Brottier Centre for Mission & Spirituality, SIST, Attakwu, Enugu, 2003, Certification in Information Communication Technology, EBSCO Technologies (2009).
